Summer in Rosemary Beach

A full guide of what to do, where to eat, and all the best places to stay in this quaint beach town along 30a.

Rosemary Beach has been my husband and I’s favorite vacation spot (like so many other people!) for years! It is easy to get to, easy to get around without a car, and so beautiful! The white sand, clear water, and yummy restaurants just can’t be beat! We recently counted and realized we have visited this special little spot at least once each year since we’ve been married— 9 years! Some things have changed through the years, and a lot has stayed the same. Here are some of our must-do’s and must-see’s in the area.

Where to stay:

We have stayed in a bunch of different places around Rosemary Beach. When we first started visiting, we would find a cute studio apartment in the Village of South Walton Beach through VRBO or Airbnb. This was great because it was generally pretty affordable, walkable to restaurants and the beach, and has pool access!

Another spot we have really loved staying in is Rosemary Beach Inn. Located literally on the ocean, this small, boutique hotel has probably been one of our favorite stays! Not only do you get free breakfast at the restaurant (Summer Kitchen Cafe) below the hotel, but they also include two beach chairs for each day you stay. It is such a lovely, lovely spot and perfect for a romantic getaway or when its just two people traveling.

As our family has grown, we also love to try to find a big house that everyone can stay in together. Staying in Rosemary Beach allows access to multiple different pools, and is walkable to so many shops and restaurants. The houses are all stunning, and it is so fun to grab a coffee in the morning and walk through the neighborhood to see all the fun architecture. Plus, some of the houses we have stayed in even have their own pool, which is such a bonus! This last option can be a little pricier, but with enough people pitching in and going at the right time of year, it actually isn’t too bad.

What to do:

One of our favorite things about visiting Rosemary Beach is that we do a whole lot of nothing! But, even though it is a great spot to rest and relax, there are a few fun things for those who like to be a bit more adventurous and active.
