Hill Country Day Trip
Its the first day of Spring! I was recently telling Jordan that each year when the weather starts to get a little warmer, I always find myself wanting to do some exploring in the Texas Hill Country. Usually, we pick a town that we can make a day trip out of and spend a Saturday exploring the shops, restaurants, wineries, etc. This year, we took Davis and hopped around to a few small towns in the Hill Country area. It was in the 80’s and was the perfect way to spend a Saturday doing all things spring!
We started the day with breakfast at Blue Bonnet Cafe in Marble Falls, Texas- we love this place! The people who work here are so kind and lovely, and the food is so good! The perfect way to start the day!
Next, we headed to do some strawberry picking at Sweet Berry Farm in Marble Falls, Texas- we got here right as they opened which was great because it wasn’t too hot or crowded yet! We picked some strawberries, looked at some goats, and headed on to the next spot.
Our next spot was a coffee stop at Buchanans in Blanco, Texas - I love trying out new coffee shops and this one was so sweet! I am a sucker for a cute coffee shop in a house!
Next, we walked around downtown Blanco a bit. There wasn’t a TON to do, but it was the classic town square and reminded us a little of Georgetown. My favorite shop was called West-End Co. and had such cute home decor!
Our next stop was Arnosky Family Farm and Market - a flower farm outside of Blanco. They have a big blue barn with plants + flowers for sale and its all on honor system. We bought a bouquet of Ranunculus and some lettuce plants for my garden beds.
On our way home, we decided to take a different route and drive through Wimberley. We needed to grab some food and love this cute Texas town! Saturdays in Wimberley seem to be pretty crazy every time we go, but that can add to the fun! We stopped at a place called Ranch Brand Winery and Distillery and each got a drink + sandwich. It was wonderful, quick and easy, definitely a spot we’d go back to!
Next time, we’d love to spend a little more time walking around + exploring Wimberley. Davis was spent and it was just about nap time, so we ended up eating and heading home.
We love these little day trips! They feel like little mini vacations and are way easier to do, especially with a one year old.
