The Perfect Long Weekend in Carmel-by-the-Sea
Looking for the perfect summer destination to escape the heat? When I googled "coolest weather in the summer" in hopes of escaping the miserable Texas heat in July, Carmel-by-the-Sea came up as one of the top places to visit. Highs in the 60's? Beautiful beaches? We're sold!
Here's everything we did while we were there, including where we stayed. This was also our first trip with our baby, and I was surprised at how smooth things went!
Where to Stay:
While there are tons of cute hotels in Carmel-by-the-Sea, we ultimately landed on Le Petit Pali at Ocean Ave. The location was perfect! We were right on the main street so walking to dinner was easy and we didn't have to load everything up in the car each time we wanted to get out. Upon arrival, we got a free glass of sparkling, and there were warm cookies delivered to our room each night! Complimentary pastries for breakfast each morning were also a huge hit!
What to Do in Carmel-by-the-Sea:
There is so much to do and see in this precious town! One of Jordan and I's favorite things to do is to take a walk in the neighborhood surrounding the towns we visit. Carmel has some really unique and fun houses to look at! Here are some other fun things we enjoyed:
-Hiking at Point Lobos State Natural Preserve- the views were incredible!
-Coffee at Carmel Valley Coffee Roasting Co.
-Popping into all the cute shops on Ocean Ave. and in Carmel Plaza, an outdoor shopping mall
-Walking down to the beach and dog watching!
-Take a day trip north to Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park (free entry!) This park had a perfect small loop you could walk to experience some beautiful and giant Redwood trees!
Where to Eat:
-Il Tegamino
-La Bicyclette Restaurant
-Rise and Roam Bakery and Pizzeria
-Alvarado Street Brewery & Bistro
-Bruno's Market & Deli
-Stationæry
